You’re not alone. We’re here to help

After surgery, during chemotherapy or radiation treatments, our hospital sitters can monitor and provide companionship, run errands or seek medical attention. They also enable family members to go home and rest, knowing your loved one won’t be alone.

Our Cancer Care can make the transition home and recovery from sessions easier and more comfortable. Enabling oncology patients to focus solely on their recovery, a Home Care Assistance Carer can prepare meals, do light housework, help with bathing, dressing and personal hygiene, give medication reminders, provide companionship, help with exercise and provide transportation to and from doctors’ appointments or treatments. Carers promote recovery by reducing stress, fatigue and depression.

Services

Transportation and Errands

Driving may be too difficult for you or your loved one while going through or recovering from cancer treatment. Our Carers can provide transportation to and from ongoing treatment or rehabilitation appointments, shopping, to support group sessions and more. Our Carers can also run errands such as picking up groceries or medications from the pharmacy allowing the individual to stay home and rest.

Nutrition and Meal Preparation

Carers can cook meals based on our proprietary Balanced Care Method, which emphasises healthy, balanced nutrition and regular calorie intake in line with the doctor’s recommendations. When undergoing Cancer treatment, large meals can be difficult, so Carers can encourage eating healthy snacks throughout the day or drinking nutritional supplements.

Medication Reminders and Assistance

It can be difficult to keep on top of the many different medications during or after cancer treatments. Carers provide reminders on which medications to take, when and with what. Removing any worry about keeping it all in check.

Light Housekeeping & Personal Hygiene

After surgery or during chemotherapy or radiation treatments, it can be difficult to accomplish some of the more common tasks we’re used to doing on our own. Health and safety are top priorities, which is why we’re here to support you or your loved one with housekeeping and personal hygiene needs such as laundry and bathing. We provide assistance to achieve these daily tasks, while providing guidance and support to maintain independence.

Support During Rehabilitation

Maintaining the right level of exercise and adhering to any prescribed physical therapy is an important part of recovery after treatment. Carers provide support during what is often an emotionally and physically draining activity. They provide encouragement but also ensure over exertion is avoided. Our Cancer Carers are there every step of the way.
Choosing the right Home Care Provider
Choosing the right Home Care services for you or your loved one can be a difficult time. It can be hard to know what questions to ask, and if the support you require now as well as into the future will be appropriately catered for to your preferences and standards. To help you work through the selection process, we developed our Home Care Company Checklist to assist with due diligence and selecting the right care requirements for you or your loved one.

Personal care and assistance can be covered under government programs such as Home Care Packages, NDIS & Commonwealth Health Support Program (CHSP). Please note, there may be a gap and small contribution to pay, as the government may not fund the full cost of the program.
