The Federal Government made strong progress in reducing wait times last year, releasing 20,000 new Home Care Packages ahead of the Support at Home reforms on 1st November and another 20,000 Support at Home packages prior to January 2026.
Looking forward, an additional 63,000 Support at Home places will be rolled out between now and 30 June 2026, with packages continuing to be allocated weekly through the National Priority System to ensure older Australians with the highest needs are supported first.
